Some History
Established in
1922 as a summer school teaching extension courses through
Colorado State Teacher's College in Greeley, Olympus Lodge opened
for guest lodging sometime in the mid 1930's.
At that time
there were three floors to the main lodge building, but after a
fire destroyed the third floor in the early 1940's, it became a
two floor structure looking much then as it does today. There is
one guest room on the second floor (our Lodge Room with its
in-room Jacuzzi), the remainder being housing for our on-site
manager.
The lodging, in
addition to the Lodge Room, consists of 16 motel style units (all
decorated individually) and 5 cabins, some of which are on yearly
rentals.
The panoramic
view of Longs Peak and surrounding mountains was why the location
was originally selected and remains as one of the most popular
attractions of Olympus Lodge.

About your hosts
Todd and Becky Wright, along with their
three children, Beau, Rhett, and Shelby, purchased Olympus Lodge in
March of 2002 from the Mizer's, who had owned the Lodge for many years
and were ready to enjoy retirement.
Since then, the Wright's have
thoroughly and beautifully renovated the Lodge and each unit and cabin
to the most exquisite detail, with each unit possessing an aura of
individuality and peacefulness from the each other.
Through their efforts, the Lodge is now
becoming a place for groups to gather, meet, and enjoy the benefits of
what we offer. We can accommodate small to medium groups for both single
day and multiple day gatherings. We currently have a number of family
reunions planned as well as professional meetings, classes and
workshops, and wedding receptions.
Let Todd & Becky welcome you to
Olympus Lodge and you will understand why we are quickly becoming the
place to stay while in Estes Park.
